Eating Vegan, the Healthiest Decision!

94 Year Old Vegetarian Wins Half Marathon Again!

94 Year Old Vegetarian Wins Half Marathon Again!

As this poster1 of 94 year old Fauja Singh testifies eating vegan/vegetarian can help you live a long and healthy life. The evidence of the health benefits of a vegan diet is so prevalent today that on this site, at least for now, we will only offer a few of the thousands of suggestions of where to get nutritional research and advice.
What makes us unique is we offer support of other local, like-minded individuals who are thriving on a vegan diet. We have talented, well-informed, and passionate speakers available for your school or club event. We have fun; pot-lucks, recipe exchanges, lots of great literature, a lending library of books, videos, CD's, DVD's plus caring new friends. If you need it, you will have understanding and knowledgeable friends to support you and your family in your commitment to healthy eating.

Eating Great, Food Fun

Vegan eating can be delicious too. Guess where you can get the the most Amazing Chocolate Mousse imaginable that just happens to be vegan? Hint its right here in Sonoma County.

Below is an unbelievably killer pasta recipe. (We had to arm twist here. This founding member wanted to horde it and continue impressing friends!)

Mom's Vegan Super Spaghetti

Be sure to use all organically grown ingredients. It not only tastes much better but pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers are bad for the Earth, wildlife and you.

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 4 medium-sized onions chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1/4 cup Earth Balance Organic Whipped Buttery Spread (be sure to get exactly this kind, the cube instead of whipped does not taste nearly as good)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 8 oz cans tomato puree
  • 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons organic vegetarian Worcester sauce
  • 1 lb "Sol Cuisine" Organic "Sol-ground" phony hamburger (does not have to be this brand but this is the only organic one available and is much better for the earth, wildlife and you)
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  1. Cook parsley, onion and garlic in hot oils until soft and transparent.
  2. Add tomato paste and puree and Worcester sauce.
  3. Add phoney meat browned in oils.
  4. Cook slowly for 3 hours
  5. Salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cook pasta.
  7. Enjoy!

Serves eight, but make sure to make extra, your guests will want to take some home.
